Probably one of my most favorite fishing spots for trout in the High Sierras of California. If you travel up Highway 395 from Lone Pine, you will ultimately arrive at Bridgeport, California. At Bridgeport, you take a right and travel about 4-5 miles to the other side of Bridgeport Reservoir. This is where you will find the East Fork of the Walker River. The fishing here is very restricted, so make sure you check the current regulations. You must use artificial lures with single, barb less hooks. The fish here are native and some are very large. You would not believe how hard they are to catch and how much they fight. Yep, this is one of my favorite places. Here is a great YouTube video showing some of the East Walker River fishing.
